Thailand is a culinary haven and sensory delight and Bangkok nightlife is legendary. What to do if you are looking for some shopping and food after hours? Check Inn 99 recommends these “must visit” Bangkok night markets:
Rachada Rot Fai Train Night Market
On Ratchadaphisek Road and easily accessible from the MRT Thai Cultural Center stop. It’s big and vibrant, with vendors selling something for everyone. There are bars, stalls selling goods, and even a few nail salons and barber shops. Behind the Esplanade shopping mall.
Palladium Night Market
In the Pratunam area of Bangkok, it’s attached to the Palladium shopping center and closes at midnight. Organized layout of market. Food choices are modest.
Patpong Night Market
Down Silom Road, the Patpong Night market has become a popular visitor destination for night shopping. The backdrop are go-go bars and night clubs. Many families walking through, and there are plenty of food options in the area.
ASIATIQUE The Riverfront
More “upscale” and clean, this night market is situated on the Chao Phraya River at the site of the former East Asiatic Company. Thai street foods and restaurants are available, as also stands selling souvenirs. There’s also some shopping mall familiar stores. It’s a free market, although if you want to take the ferris wheel you’ll have to buy a ticket.
