The Vintagers, a four-piece blues band, was formed in 2010 by Thai musicians Whim Jingjit on guitar and vocals, Haroon Muanpreecha on drums, and Chaiyaporn Jantrame on bass. Violinist Volt W. Jingit, one of the original members and graduate of Berklee College of Music, is moving to New York. “We’ve opened the ‘4th Vintagers’ to many guys who match our vibe,” says Whim Jingit. “Now we have 2-3 guys rotating – a harmonica player named Peaw, a swing jive Bluesman named Nut and others. I love to present The Vintagers as a fellowship family band.”
Citing Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Allman Brothers, and Bob Dylan amongst their influences, their repertoire ranges from psychedelic blues, soul, funk and some traditional blues.
The Vintagers have been active on the Thai music scene, performing at charity events and music festivals. They are currently working on a project showcasing their original compositions. Nowadays they are in the process of recording their own original music.
“We believe and value ‘the Whimsical freshness jamming’ which is the charm of Blues music,” says Whim. “There is always an open seat at conversation table.”
Catch them on Saturday night starting at 9PM at Check Inn 99 LIVE MUSIC on Sukhumvit Soi 33.
