Where in central Bangkok can you grab a good meal with a glass of wine while at the same time enjoy some world-class jazz music? Check Inn 99 aims to do just that with the launch of their “Dinner with …” series with acclaimed international jazz artist Dale Barlow kicking it off with his jazz trio.
Dale Barlow, from Sydney, is a jazz saxophonist, flute player and composer. He spent the early 1980s in New York where he was a member of the Cedar Walton Quartet and Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, two of the greatest training grounds for musicians in jazz history.
 
Barlow has also toured and recorded with other jazz greats including Sonny Stitt, Chet Baker, Jackie McLean, Dizzy Gillespie, and Eddie Palmieri. He played with the Gil Evans’ Big Band, and was a member of the Billy Cobham band for 3 years.
 
Dale also was a part of the English jazz scene where he performed at Ronnie Scotts. He recorded and performed with numerous pop artists while in England including- Wham, Style Council, Sting, Ian Dury.
Centrally located a few steps down Sukhumvit Soi 33 near the Bangkok Skytrain BTS Phrom Phong stop, stepping off the street brings you into a cool music lounge setting, complete with velour curtains and images of blues and jazz greats – Ray Charles, B.B. King, John Coltrane, and Ella Fitzgerald gracing the walls.
